Though it was only a check-up to make sure that our heating system was up to snuff for the approaching winter, Derek made it feel like a visit from a family member (which in a way it almost was, since he had serviced us a couple of years back, and we remembered him, as he did us!). Warm, friendly, and engaging, he was also highly professional in his demeanor and inspired us with the utmost confidence as he thoroughly went through the various steps required to check out our unit. Thankfully, all was in good order, except for a worn and moldy screen on the humidifier which Derek expertly caught and quickly replaced for us. Though it was obviously a business transaction, Derek's warm personality really made it a very pleasant experience; he chatted briefly with my mom and told her how he remembered her from last time, which made her smile and set a nice tone for the beginning of the day. Someone with Derek's personality really does put a human face on a service call, and at a time when there are many businesses to choose from for our home climate-control needs, this makes all the difference to us. Next time we need help with our heating or cooling systems, we'll never look anywhere but to Varsity - and we'll make sure that they send us Derek!!!
